Autumn : 2023
Dear Club Members:
I hope you have all had a very good Summer although the weather has not always been up to expectations. As you can see I have attached the Autumn programme. For various reasons the concert dates are not always fortnightly as is the norm. There are several reasons for this, the main one being the building work that has been continuing during the summer break. The major work to combat the damp problems is now complete and the decorators start on the 4th September and this in itself is quite an undertaking. It is hoped that the Club may be able to reopen on the 2nd October but more likely it will be the 9th. Please do not make any bookings until I notify you of the actual date. This is likely to be in the last week of September.
As you can see the first concert on the 12th September will be held in St Paul’s Church, just down the road from the club. Please note that there will be no refreshments available on that night.
As some of you may be aware I have been Club Secretary since March 2007. I feel that it is time to hand the reigns over to a new person who can bring fresh ideas. Therefore I will not be standing for re-election at the 2024 A.G.M. If you are interested in learning about the duties of the Secretary then please contact me and I can talk you through the various jobs. I, of course would be willing to meet anybody who may be interested in the position. I would suggest working in tandem from January 2024.
I know that we all lead busy lives but it would be very nice to see more members support our concerts which are mainly given by members.
